Letter of Recommendation
From Pam

May 29, 2003

To Whom It May Concern:

“My name is Pam and I am a ‘closet’ control freak…” I hate to confess it, but it is true. Years ago my childhood perceptions of events that took place in our family rattled my world. I felt the only way I’d keep my sanity was to control the circumstances around me. This desire to control has created long lists of expectations of myself, others and events. The stress even brought on the life-threatening illness, Lupus. I needed help and I needed it fast.

Michele Foy of Dynamic Alternatives, Inc. has been a friend of our family for more than twenty years. She possesses vision to define and achieve goals and can “read between the lines” of what I’ve said. She possesses uncommon wisdom. Michele is objective, she examines both sides of the coin. She is affirming and yet challenges me to stretch in areas I hadn’t planned on. Through our over-the–phone interpersonal counseling sessions I learned:
  • To re-examine the memories of the past through the mature eyes of an adult instead of the simplistic perceptions of a child;
  • New, more effective ways to communicate in a non-judging way using non-threatening words;
  • How to “detach from” or “let go” of having people or situations be the way I think they ought to be. This detachment has given me a deep sense of peace and the ability to find real solutions to problems;
  • How to look on the inside and find the truth of how I feel and the confidence to trust those feelings.

Making the decision to invite Dynamic Alternatives, Inc. to assist me in attaining my goals was easy; the process itself was not a passive ride. At the end of each session, Michele gave me emotional “homework” to do to exercise what I’d learned. I was given strong tools and learned valuable techniques to overcome future obstacles. As I’ve heard Michele say, “Sh-- well processed makes excellent fertilizer”. This is certainly true. My life is blossoming.

Sincerely,
Pamela
